New Splash Merchandise!
Wow, has it really been exactly a month since I last updated? Sad. Life has finally calmed down for me, though, so I think I’ll be able to update this regularly at last!
At any rate, today’s entry comes on the heels of a post on the Disney Parks Blog that new Splash Mountain merchandise will be arriving in the coming months!

The new merchandise is supposed to begin hitting the parks in September and October… which is perfect, since I happen to be planning a trip in October!
The post also does not mention what kind of merchandise will be available, other than mentioning that there are already some new Splash Mountain shirts available now. Here’s hoping there’s some good stuff available! Though new anything is wonderful, at this rate. For too long, the parks have only had a couple of generic shirts that don’t even have the Brer characters featured on them. So if you’re planning a trip to either Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom in WDW, be sure to pick some up! The more that sell, the more likely Disney is to make even more new merchandise.

I stumbled across your website randomly today, and have to say I’m glad there are other Brer Rabbit fans besides myself!
Now as to the Splash Mountain merchandise – I took a trip to WDW in Florida back in July and purchased the “It was soaking awesome!” t-shirt there, along with an absolutely adorable bobble-head of Brer Rabbit. I was so excited, because I rarely see merchandise of Brer Rabbit at the parks. Now, when I came home I examined a few various things I have here that have various Disney characters only to find Brer Rabbit (along with Brer Fox and Brer Bear) hidden in with them as well! I noticed this on a t-shirt I got when I was little, a pressed coin holder I bought, and a magnet from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Also, another bit of info regarding some Brer Rabbit pins – back when I went in July, they had a mystery pin set out, where you buy a box that contains two random pins. It was a 10 pin set featuring Disney characters and license plates. One of them was Brer Rabbit peeking over a license plate reading “ZPD2DA” (for “zip-a-dee-doo-dah”). In relation to that, later this month (the website gave the release date as the 21st, but they sometimes release things earlier than when they post them, I’ve noticed) they are releasing yet another mystery pin set that will feature Brer Rabbit! The set is Disney characters with attraction vehicles, and sure enough, it includes one with Brer Rabbit with a Splash Mountain log.
